In May 2005, the group launched an ambitious
project to produce a Village Design Statement for Nutley. We asked a broad
cross-section of villagers what they considered the distinctive characteristics
of the village to be and set up working groups to investigate these
characteristics under the headings:
The results of the investigations were
assembled to form the draft Village Design Statement which was presented to the
village at a joint meeting with the Parish Council on 4th November 2005.
On the basis of this, we worked with the
Parish Council in the production of a Village Plan to feed into the Local
Development Framework.
This will help to ensure sensitive planning and
development with the aim of responding to the village's needs and enhancing the
character of the village in the future.
We are pleased to announce the VDS has
now been completed and printed
